Our Story

"Dawn Patrol" originated the vietnam war as slang for (you guessed it) the morning patrol. It was later adapted by the surf community as a phrase to describe gearing up with your crew and seeking out waves in the early AM.

Living up in Hawai'i, my crew and I would regularly go on morning missions when there was a swell or on weekends to longboard down some of the flithiest runs on earth. We'd hitchhike to the homezones and try to catch a ride back to town before school started. We'd borrow someone's parent's car or ride 3 deep on a moped to make it to the spot. By any means necessary.

Some things never change.

Dawn Patrol is an ode to the community of stoke chasers and board riders. It doesn't matter if it's surfing, snowboarding, or skating. Any morning mission chasing that feeling is what it means to go on Dawn Patrol.

With Dawn Patrol, I hope to to remind people of the heart-pounding feelings of dropping into a wave a little too big, rushing a nasty corner at full tuck, or just vibing with your friends watching an evening glassy sunset.

With aloha and stoke,
- Dawn Patrol
